Winter
In winter the lodge sits in deep snow at the foot of the mountain, with the Funitel and the tram a short walk away and Alpine Meadows a free shuttle ride. In late fall and winter the snowmaking and the ploughs can be heard at night, so pack earplugs if you sleep light.
Inside
A private sleeping area and an open kitchen and living space, with a new couch.
The bed and a reading chair sit by the big window at the far end, behind the accordion screen. The middle of the studio is the kitchen counter, the sofa and the TV; the large bathroom with its tub, the closet and the ski storage are by the front door.
Palisades Tahoe Lodge
The lodge’s pool, hot tubs, gym, sauna and locker room were remodelled in 2022. Barbecues and a lawn by the pond for summer evenings.
We’ve stayed at a few units in this complex. Compared to others, Renee’s place is very clean, sunny, and nicely furnished. Our daughter described the pull out couch as the most comfy she’s slept on. … The location is unbeatable.
